body image challenges
Our media-fueled culture gives constant feedback on the “ideal,” “desirable,” or “perfect” body. These messages can lead to feeling bad about your own body. You may feel uncomfortable being in your body as it is right now, or feel bad about yourself when you look in the mirror. You might focus on “problem areas” that you want to change. These experiences can lead to feelings of low self-worth, guilt, and shame.
I can help you to challenge these beliefs and develop skills to build a better relationship with your body. When you focus on caring for your body as a whole instead of just its appearance, you may start to feel better about other aspects of your life as well. Let’s explore the ways that your body can bring you incredible joy, happiness, and pleasure to your life.

disordered eating
With so many demands on your time and resources, it can feel overwhelming to figure out what to eat and when. This can lead to a feeling of loss of control over your eating, to the point that thoughts about food dominate your life. If you feel guilty about certain foods you consume, or can’t find any satisfaction or pleasure in the foods you eat, it can be challenging to get through each day.
Together we will find ways to decrease the chaos around mealtimes, which will lead to less stress and emotional eating. When your eating is more regulated, your mood will start to improve. When you feel better emotionally, you can handle stress more effectively. These improvements will help you shift your focus to what is most important in life.
